About this site

Most of us would like to improve the environment in which we live and our gardens, parks or allotments are a great place to start. Sustainable and organic gardening practices can help you do a lot more. Practices such as using eco-friendly techniques and materials that are as close to the natural process as possible, good soil management and the use of natural alternatives to chemical usage for disease, weed and pest control.

The aim of this site is to help gardeners, horticulturists, enthusiasts and the curious, find the right services, source products, grow organic food, create a wildlife sanctuary, visit places for inspiration, enjoy nature and share resources that are green, eco-friendly and organic.

Links fit into one of the following categories: organic, sustainability, recycling, biodiversity, ecology, education, conservation and eco-friendly gardening.

This is an on-going project, developed through successive stages, with features being added or changed at each stage. No one pays for their site to be listed or to post products. Gardeners' Box has associates accounts with vendors such as Amazon.co.uk and any other payments come from the advertisements listed in the right column.

All website links in the directory have been added because they work towards basic ethical and organic standards, including:

• employing sustainable, environmentally, natural methods
• purchasing supplies and services from the local community
• supporting and promoting long-term environmental and social benefits

Any information sent to me I always verify it is correct, but I do not verify the actual services or products provided.
